Watch Elton John perform Tiny Dancer for Joe Biden at the White House

Sir Elton John received the National Humanities Medal from US President Joe Biden. The award was held at the White House in Washington, DC, where John was honored alongside her husband, David Furnish, for their work in the fight against the AIDS epidemic.
During the ceremony, which took place on the South Lawn of the White House, John performed a six-song set that included Your Song, Tiny Dancer, Rocket Man (I Think It’s Gonna Be Long, Long), Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, Crocodile Rock and I am still standing.
“It is a great honor – and I mean sincerely – to present the National Humanities Medal to Sir Elton John,” Biden said. “Throughout his career, Elton has found his voice to help others and help them find their voice. With his hope, he made history rhyme for countless people in our country, which is what this evening is about.
“Elton has often spoken about how American music has changed his life and how different genres and sounds have influenced his own music and imagination. It’s clear that Elton John’s music has changed our lives. To David and the boys, thank you for sharing your husband and father with us.
“On behalf of the American people, thank you – and I say this sincerely – thank you for touching the soul of our nation.”
“I am honored to receive the National Humanities Medal from President Biden and the First Lady at such a spectacular White House event,” said Sir Elton. “It is moving for me to be recognized for the accomplishments of the Elton John AIDS Foundation Since I founded the Foundation at my kitchen table in Atlanta 30 years ago, I have pledged to leave no one behind. behind and I will continue this mission.
“We aspire to a future where people of all races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations and gender identities have the opportunity to live free from AIDS, stigma, injustice and abuse – and I am so grateful that the recognition loves it brings us one step closer to making it a reality.”
Elton John’s Goodbye Yellow Brick Road Tour is currently in the United States, with the next show taking place at Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX on Friday. His last show on American soil, scheduled for Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on November 20, will be broadcast live via Disney+. Full dates below.
