Vandals hit the beaches of Cabo de Gata in Almeria, Spain.
Several beaches in Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park in Almeria have been vandalized, but the Junta de Andalucia has intervened to resolve the issue. The Junta de Andalucia, through the Territorial Delegation for Sustainable Development, has replaced the buoys on the beaches which have been victims of âacts of vandalismâ. The vandals set out to remove the signage and attack buoys, intended to ensure the safety of swimmers and protect the environment.
According to Europa Press, Andalusian government sources have confirmed that recently “there have been cases in which the buoys have been moved or even removed, which has been reported to the Guardia Civil”, the behavior can be considered an “offense serious âdue to the fact that it is consideredâ a threat to the conservation of the coastal habitats of the Natural Park and affects the safety of visitors â.
The Junta assured that all the buoys which have been vandalized have been repaired, “and the marine bands adjacent to these creeks have been noticed”, they are now convinced that “these acts of vandalism will not happen again”.
As reported by Diario de Almeria, âThe purpose of this measure is to be able to regulate the use of these beaches, ensuring the compatibility of all tourist and economic activities of the park with the use and enjoyment of all users. private, while ensuring the safety of citizens and protection of the environment.
The measures will be in place until mid-September, when the tourist season is expected to end.
