TOURISTS gave Almeria top marks this summer, with only Cordoba and Seville doing better.
Participants in a survey by the Andalusian Institute of Statistics and Cartography (IECA) gave Cordoba and Seville 8.8 out of 10, followed by Almeria and Cadiz with 8.5.
Visitors also told the IECA that they were impressed with the attention and treatment they received in the province of Almeria, as well as its landscapes, national parks, safety, health services and its cultural heritage.
Twenty-five percent said the attention they received was better than they expected, although 11% felt the prices were worse than they expected.
Andalusia welcomed 11 million tourists in the third quarter of 2022, 37% of whom lived inside the region. Thirty-four percent came from other parts of Spain, while 22 percent came from EU member states and the United Kingdom, and 6 percent from other countries.
Almost 11% of the total visited Almeria, each spending an average of €74, an increase of 5% compared to the same period in 2021. Tourists from other parts of Andalucia spent an average of €60 compared to €107 € for those elsewhere.
