Spanish National Police have arrested four traveling Neapolitan citizens involved in the theft of high-end watches from tourists.
Six other people have been identified for whom the corresponding European arrest and surrender warrant has been requested, reports SchengenVisaInfo.com.
“They are Italian citizens, mostly Neapolitans, who came in groups of 3 or 4 people to different Spanish tourist towns during the summer months. They chose their victims, preferably elderly foreigners, whom they watched and followed until they determined the ideal moment for the robbery, during which, using violence, they made sure to snatch luxury watches from their owners. says the statement issued by the Ministry of the Interior.
According to the ministry, the persons in question acted separately in tourist areas such as Marbella, Madrid, Barcelona, Ibiza or Palma de Mallorca which have luxury facilities.
The same have committed theft using the specialization and organization of their members. So, at first they had the intervention of women as “scouts” in search of targets, then, the material who carried out the robbery acted, executing him without hesitation by punching and throwing his victims to the ground to take the booty.
As the ministry explains, another person was waiting on a motorcycle to make his escape faster and safer as well, which could endanger the safety of road traffic and pedestrians.
At the same time, an accomplice of the gang, located in another vehicle, immediately took the stolen watch to prevent the material perpetrators of the robbery from intervening in case they were arrested.
They have also taken numerous measures to avoid identification and detention, such as using false documents in hotels, using them to rent vehicles, and wearing hats, masks or helmets.
Last month, the authorities dismantled a criminal group which provided Indian citizens with false documents in exchange for large sums of money, up to €100,000 per person. In this regard, the Ministry of Interior discovered that this now dismantled criminal organization operates with two branches, one of which is in India and the other in Madrid, Spain.
In October, Spanish police also destroyed an Albanian criminal organization that encouraged irregular migration to the UK. According to the ministry, this organization transported emigrants of members of the organization by boat.
Whereas earlier, in September, the Spanish authorities announced the dismantling of another organization that recruited minors, mainly of North African origin, and also provided them with false documents to leave the Canary Islands.
