Kiwi.com: Italy is the number one country Romanians prefer for the holiday season, alongside the UK, Spain and Greece as top destinations

Kiwi.com, a travel technology company, shares travel data regarding Romanians’ preferences for their summer vacation recorded on the platform.
The total number of bookings this summer is 70% above last year’s level. The top 5 countries where Romanians travel are Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Greece and Francebut people also go to Germany, Austria or Belgium.
European cities top the list when it comes to bookings, with London, Milan, Rome, Vienna and Brussels in the top 5. People have also booked holidays to Paris, Dublin or Barcelona. Compared to last year, the average air ticket prices increased by 7.7%, but the amount is 5.8% lower than in 2019. As usual, ticket prices depend on the duration of the flights.
According to data from Kiwi.com, the majority of Romanians like to book their holidays in advance. Specifically, 37% of travelers book their holidays from 3 weeks to 2 months in advance. 14% of them take 2 to 4 months in advance, while 14% book their leave 1 to 2 weeks in advance. On the other hand, 8% of them are more spontaneous and book 4 to 6 days in advance, while 13% prefer last minute bookings and get their flights only three days in advance or less.

Regarding the time spent in destination, it seems that Romanians are big fans of city breaks, with 74% of them staying up to 3 days in the same place. 12% prefer to have 4 to 6 days of vacation, while 11% spend 1 to 2 weeks in destination.
