Washington DC – US Senator Marco Rubio (RL) joined Mornings with Maria on Fox Business to discuss its decision to suspend President Biden’s ambassadorial appointments to China and Spain, reports illegal immigrants being flown to Florida and the Build Back Better spending program.

On the decision to suspend the appointment of Nicholas Burns as ambassador to China:

“In Mr. Burns’ case, it’s not that he’s a mean or bad person. Problem is, he’s part of that failed bipartisan consensus that believed China would get richer and then become like us.

“What we need right now are people who clearly understand that China is a geopolitical competitor and a potential adversary. They seek to overtake us. They work at all levels to surpass us technologically, in our economy, [and] in our army.

“They are more and more aggressive, they have these wolf diplomats. We need our version of wolf diplomacy. We need diplomats who will be strong and who will go to China and not be invited to their parties and have polite conversations, but who will in fact be very strong in expressing our outrage at human rights violations, [and]the technology they steal and how they block our businesses’ access to their economy. And I don’t believe he’s going to do it. I do not do it. I think this is the wrong person for this job.

On the decision to suspend the appointment of Julissa Reynoso Pantaleón as Ambassador to Spain:

“She is a sympathizer and apologist for Castro, and has a long career in this field. I don’t think she should be an Ambassador anywhere, let alone in Spain, which plays a disproportionate role in the Western Hemisphere when it comes to European countries due to their long history there. [Spain] Carry on[s] to be one of the greatest defenders and apologists as a nation, as a government, for the regime, not only in Cuba, but also in Venezuela, Nicaragua and other places.

About China:

“If you mean the failure of foreign policy orthodoxy, Joe Biden is a living and living symbol of it. Not only was he wrong in foreign policy, but … as Xi Jinping said, “It’s good to see my old friend Joe Biden again.” They clearly go back a long way and have some kind of relationship.

“My take on what’s going on in the administration is that there are people in the administration who see China as a threat and something that we have to face. And then there are others who say, “China is a country with which we want to make a deal. Let’s make a climate deal, let’s make a deal with them on anything… ”

“Looks like [Biden] tries to please both sides of this equation. The result is people say, “Listen, don’t talk too much about Uyghurs. Don’t talk too much about the fact that they hack and steal our information. Don’t talk too much about their threats against Taiwan, as it will hurt our ability to reach a deal with them on climate change. I really think that’s what’s going on there, and it shows why we’re not making progress on these important things. “

On recent reports that the Biden administration secretly sent more than 70 flights carrying illegal immigrants to Jacksonville, Florida:

“It’s unpopular and they don’t want to admit it. This is why they do it in the dark of the night on these charter flights without notifying the local authorities. ? and these are the ones we know, by the way.

“I wasn’t saying it, it was a local media out there that found it and only watched the last six months. There are more thefts than that ? they are probably still going ? and they didn’t warn anybody, they didn’t tell anybody about it.

“And the reason they hide it is because they know that if you’ve told most people ? I don’t care where you go in this country, you can go to the most liberal city in America ? and you ask them, “Do you agree that we leave a plane full of immigrants who have just arrived in your town?” “, The answer would be” No “. It would be deeply unpopular, from San Francisco to anywhere in the Deep South. And that’s why they don’t want to talk about it. But that’s what they do.

“And… they are ready to fire pilots, they are ready to fire National Guardsmen, they are ready to fire soldiers who are not vaccinated. ? how many of these migrants, before dropping them off, did they vaccinate? I guarantee the number is zero.

On the Cuban regime’s efforts to quell another round of protests on the island this week:

“The Cuban regime is very good at repression; that’s the only thing they do very well. They don’t know how to run an economy, they don’t know how to provide for their people, but they know how to quell protests.

“What they did was they mobilized the army [and] mobs of angry Communists to harass and prosecute these activists. Moreover, these activists are intellectuals, poets, artists ? not a guerrilla group. But I think they failed, because what they did was … in their reaction, they agreed with their detractors.

“My real question is today when President Biden is talking to [President Andrés Manuel López Obrador] from Mexico, is he going to ask him, “How can you continue to defend a regime that does this kind of thing?” Obviously, Obrador has a long history of defending left-wing elements around the world.

“I want us to put more diplomatic pressure on this front, and I want this administration to prioritize what I have asked and what my bills are asking for, and what the amendment I have adopted asks for. in the Senate, and what the Internet provides inside Cuba in key locations at key times. It would have been great to have full and unfettered internet access on Monday, when these protests were supposed to take place so people could talk to each other and send pictures about the crackdown. Even with everything [the censorship] they did [send some], but it would have been a lot better if they had had that access, and we had that ability. This is just not a priority for an administration populated by people who, frankly, sympathize with a regime and any extreme left element in Latin America.

On whether President Biden’s ‘Build Back Better’ agenda will be adopted:

“I don’t know what’s going to happen in the House, [but] it’s Build Back Socialism. Essentially, it’s about codifying socialism in our law.

“There are a lot of dollar numbers and associated dollar signs, but the big deal isn’t just the money, it’s what it does. For example, they will take over kindergarten in the United States, and you won’t see any churches being able to provide kindergarten, let alone teach religion. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.

“This is a terrible bill. I do not know if this will pass in the House. I’ll do anything to stop it. It will be devastating for our country.
