Flights from Newquay Airport during February mid term and where you can fly from Cornwall

With February mid-term on the way, tourists from across the UK will no doubt flock to Cornwall for their first holiday of the year.
Meanwhile, many families here will be looking for a place to get away – away from the crowds that will form across Cornwall over the week.
And while there are quite a few places accessible by car, Cornwall still boasts a sometimes overlooked airport.

Cornwall Newquay Airport offers much more than flights to the Isles of Scilly. From there this semester you can go anywhere in the UK – and even abroad if you wish.
Here are all the destinations you could take the family on a plane this semester, this year falling from Monday, February 20 to Friday, February 25.
Alicante, Spain
Nestled on Spain’s Costa Blanca, a modest distance from Benidorm, Alicante is a beautiful and historic city in its own right.
With the package holiday resorts on one side and the old part of town on the other, there is something for everyone in Alicante.
Flights from Newquay are twice a week, with the possibility of a short break between February 20 and 23 this semester.
You will need to be fully vaccinated (double shot at least) to enter Spain.
Manchester

Although it’s a stark contrast to the Mediterranean beaches of Alicante, Manchester is still a great place for a short city break.
Whether it’s trips to some of the historic sites – including the birthplace of British new wave music – or enjoying one of the hundreds of restaurants in the city, there’s plenty to do.
With flights between February 19 and 21, you can skip the trip at the start of midterm and have time to force the kids through their homework before heading back to school at the end of the week.
London

Car and train journeys to London are half-day chores. So why not try it on the plane?
London needs no introduction other than the fact that all the museums are free. The perfect excuse for a trip outside to tick “educational travel” off your 2022 to-do list.
Flights are almost daily between London Gatwick and Newquay.

Alternatively, take the Skybus to the Isles of Scilly. It’s the less nauseating way to visit one of the most beautiful places near Cornwall.
