As the travel industry draws closer to recovery daily and travelers plan their next ‘revenge journey’ destination, industry think tanks are examining their collective crystal balls to discern which trends will peak. the wave of recovery in 2022, and which destinations will rise to the top of those trends as people begin to travel for business and pleasure.

Hilton Hotels, for example, just released its own report on travel trends to watch in 2022. This includes a desire for new efficiencies, such as contactless check-ins and digital keys, with an emphasis on wellness beyond gyms, new trends in fitness, culinary options, unique travel experiences and a focus on sustainability. The Hilton study describes the ways in which travelers will combine business and personal travel in 2022.

A peek on Instagram these days will show the usual group of influencers swinging around Bali or wearing dental floss straps by the beach. However, it will be increasingly populated with content from influencers who are also entrepreneurs, global nomads like Andreas Vezonik, a Fintech entrepreneur whose Instagram account proves he does both.

Originally from Austria, Vezonik, an early investor in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, has spent the past three years working on his new business, a CBD company called iPlant Global, a Switzerland-based CBD retailer. which offers projects to consumers and affiliate partners.

For his personal, post-Covid 19 journey, Vezonik and his busy Instagram account are focusing on “high-value” destinations: places that are worth the trip because of a combination of excellence factors. These are destinations where one can meet new customers, explore new industries and opportunities, and also take a few days off and immerse yourself in personal pleasure.

Vezonik’s list includes Capetown, South Africa. “Cape Town is all about the beauty of nature,” he says, “If you are on a business trip here and feel the need to take some time in Cape Town. Camps Bay is the place to be. It offers an exhilarating combination of nature and adventure in a way most people have never experienced.

In Europe, the city Vezonik recommends is Barcelona, Spain. “The Miami of Europe.” The young CEO says: “This is the perfect place to enjoy excellent Spanish food, drinks and football. While the city is full of tourist attractions, you should also catch an FC Barcelona football match at the Camp Nou stadium and admire the many stars who play for the team. Nightclubs like Opium will let you party like in 1999.

Further afield, Vezonik recommends a trip to the South Pole in Antarctica. “A place where only a few thousand people go to each year. For the most part, the pole only exists in their imaginations and in National Geographic. Traveling to famous Antarctica is the dream of every person on earth. Ice and nature like you’ve never seen before and the place where for half the year the sun never sets.

He also says that a highly coveted destination, New Zealand, should be on the wishlist of all high-value destinations. “After almost two years, New Zealand is once again open to travel. If you love movies like The Lord of the Rings, you are going to love New Zealand. Ideally, you can spend at least two weeks exploring the natural wonders that only live here.

In the United States, Vezonik’s favorite city is Miami. “Miami is the city that never sleeps. It is a great place to party and spend time at the beach while providing the opportunity to meet new business partners. For all dance music lovers, the perfect time would be to go in March for Miami Music Week and the Ultra Music Festival.

Vezonik recommends Paphos, an ancient port city protected by UNESCO World Heritage and legendary, the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love.

“Paphos has an exquisite seaside, superb taverns and villas, as well as priceless areas of the deepest antiquity,” says Vezonik. “Living and working in Cyprus is a global nomad’s dream: great food, panoramic views, fantastic hospitality and the expat buzz of being a foreigner in an exotic location.
