COVID-19 vaccines soon to expire in Michigan
We have all heard so many reasons why people have been given the COVID19 vaccine, and from people who are convinced that it is not yet safe enough to get it. Many still have doubts. I’ve had both and personally I’m glad I did.
I respect everyone’s decision and that they have to do what’s right for them. My nurse daughter told me that millions of doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020 to July 12, 2021. I believe she and many of my friends who are in the medical profession that It’s certain .
Many vaccines expiring in the coming months
Seems like every day there is more information coming out that we all need to be aware of. I am always worried and hungry for information on everything that is happening on COVID19 in our state. At the start of this year, the demand for COVID-19 vaccines was far greater than the supply, according to fox47news.com. Here in Michigan, more than 260,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine will expire over the next month.
Here’s the deal, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services says Pfizer vaccines will start expiring in September and Moderna vaccines next month.
It’s sad, you know, as a public health person we know the vaccine saves lives and the fact that we have so many vaccines available, but the rate at which people get vaccinated or finish their immunization schedules is so slow is really disappointing, âsaid Debra Furr-Holden, associate dean for public health integration at Michigan State University.
Now can be a good time
So if you didn’t get yours and you’re still on the fence debating whether you should. now may be a good time. I was lucky and had no side effects and I love the peace of mind that I probably won’t have Covid19. Do your homework and do what’s right for you. Be careful.
