All European travel destinations banning UK visitors over fears over Covid rate

British holidaymakers have expressed concern over the traffic light system that puts overseas countries in green, orange or red destinations.
Fully vaccinated passengers can now skip the 10-day quarantine rule when returning to the UK if returning from Amber List destinations.
This reflects the requirements of Green List resorts with regulations stating that vacationers produce a negative Covid test before arrival and another PCR check on the second day of their return, which must be pre-booked.
This category covers popular vacation destinations such as Greece and mainland Portugal. But there are fears that Spain will soon be added to the new amber-plus category, which insists on a 10-day quarantine period – even for completely stung adults.
But UK government regulations aren’t the only travel restrictions – some countries are refusing to allow UK visitors to enter due to fears of Covid infection.
The full list of European destinations that have banned UK travelers are:
- Austria
- Belarus
- Belgium
- Bulgaria
- Czech Republic
- Denmark
- Finland
- Netherlands
- Norway
- Slovenia
- Sweden
The only destination on the green list is Bulgaria, which announced a blockade of UK visitors shortly after the UK travel rules were revised.
However, some destinations want to welcome UK visitors as soon as possible.
Hietasaari Kristiina, Senior Director, Travel / Visit Finland, said: âIt’s great to see recent UK travel plans such as opening travel to ‘amber’ countries for those who are fully vaccinated without need quarantine when they return.
