21-year-old Spanish soldier dies in Almeria hospital beach collapse

A 21-year-old Spanish soldier who was rushed to intensive care at a hospital in Almeria after collapsing on one of the city’s beaches has sadly died.

The 21-year-old Spanish soldier admitted to an intensive care unit in Almeria yesterday, Thursday August 4th, sadly passed away today, Friday August 5th, at Almeria University Hospital.
As reported by Almeria newspaper, the young man was discovered lying face down on a beach in the city of Almeria and rushed to hospital. The cause of its collapse has not yet been disclosed. He was a legionnaire who had been on leave from King Alfonso XIII’s brigade of the Spanish Legion.

A 21-year-old Spanish soldier was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Almeria University Hospital this afternoon, Thursday August 4th. There is little information available about the incident, but it is believed that the serviceman fell unconscious at one of the town’s beaches.
After being found lying face down in the water, the young legionnaire was first treated by the lifeguard who was on duty. Subsequently, medics who arrived at the scene after being alerted continued to attempt to resuscitate the soldier.
The young man was transferred to the hospital in the city of Almeria, where, according to hospital sources from Almeria newspaper, the next few hours are vital for its survival. All that is known of the soldier is that he was on leave and attached to King Alfonso XIII’s brigade of the Legion.
